I am an android user. The games I will touch on will be from the play store and may or may not be available on other platforms. To Apple users, I don't hate you or judge you harshly. I just don't use apple products and won't be reviewing any. Luckily, this site has other contributors who enjoy different operating systems and mobile platforms!
I suggest you get an application of the day (all of the day). I know they are available on android and windows phones. These applications give you a free app every day. Not all are winners, but sometimes the download is a game! Who says no to free games? A couple days ago I got Clockwork Tales: of Glass and Ink!
Earthquakes are ravaging the cities of the world! Dr. Ambrose Ink does not believe these quakes are natural. Being a forerunner in steam engineering and tracing the unnatural disturbances to the Barber family castle , Dr. Ink travels to a small village named Hochwald. Ink sends a letter to his friend, Evangeline Glass, asking for her help to save the world. You, Evangeline, travel to Hochwald. Shortly after you arrive, Dr. Ink is kidnapped by a giant steam robot! You must now rescue your friend and save the world, your adventure begins!
This game is awesome! It's beautiful, fun, creative and true to all the things I love about old games. As a fan of steampunk, the setting is fabulous. I was immersed. The only thing that brought me out of the game was the occasional notifications I received from my email and messengers, having forgotten I was on my tablet!
- Beautiful hand drawn designs and backgrounds
- Fun steampunk environments
- Old detective style point-and-click
- Bonus prequel adventure when you complete the game
- I wish it was a bit longer
- Could use a bit more direction on the more complicated puzzles but improved over earlier games by the developer
