Ken Bateman: I am a mature 360 gamer and have dabbled in gaming since the days of the IBM 386 PCs. The kind of PC you could throw at a tank and dent it. I am a old school kind of gamer. I smoke cigars, eat fatty foods and have become very comfortable with my pear shape. I respect good gamers who are battle worn, foul mouthed and are true artist with a grenade. I am surly burly kind of guy who always says what he means and thinks. I am the perfect wingman at the gates of hell, as I am there at your shoulder, laughing, making sacarastic remarks and swinging my sword all in perfect harmony.
I prefer playing with souls that have been forged in the fires of battle and can remember the old days and are not offended with my sarcastic wit. I represent the older gamers who know and love to play games with others. Those of us who have earn our stripes before being a gamer was cool, wearing our atari T-Shirts with pride and knowing what the inside of the locker looks like. :P I dont play main stream games that the masses devour with their greedy little fingers, I usually look for the unsung heros of games. For example I've never played the COD but i am very familair with the Borderlands series.
If you want an honest answer then come to me and ask. If you want someone to dance around and give you a BS package wrapped in a pretty bow, then keep moving on. In short, I am a straight shooter, who values his friendships, xbox gaming, cigars and bbq. What else could anyone ask for?
Gareth Crew: Gareth is one of those people with an opinion on everything, which he is always more than happy to share at high volume, although preferably over a pint.
A lifelong refugee from reality, Gareth has tried his hand at most flavours of geek, and would even consider doing most of them again (sorry, LARPing).
In civilian life, Gareth is a multi-award nominated Lighting Designer, cementing his own geek street-cred for life when he created lighting for the original production of Evil Dead the Musical in 2003. He is also resident LD at Toronto's premiere Lovecraftian punk horror/comedy puppetry troupe, Eldritch Theatre.
